callbay: your AI agent makes phone calls for you

your coding agent (claude code, codex, claude desktop, chatgpt) gets one new tool: make a phone call. it calls the restaurant, the doctor's office, the dealership, sounds like a normal person, gets it done, and tells your agent what happened.

how it works

put in money (from $20.00). calls cost $0.25/min of talk time.
you get a key and one prompt. paste the prompt into your agent. it installs callbay itself.
ask for things like normal. "book me a table for 4 at nopa tomorrow around 7."

what it's good at

dinner reservations, including "anything between 6:30 and 8"
doctor, dentist, vet, and salon appointments
asking a dealership about a car, price, or service slot
store hours, stock checks, quotes, "do you do X"
sitting through phone menus and hold music

how it sounds

short, casual turns. no "certainly!", no support-bot voice.
no recap at the end. it says "perfect, thanks!" and hangs up. your agent gets the recap.
asks your agent mid-call when the business needs something it wasn't given.
it doesn't announce itself. if someone sincerely asks whether it's an AI, it says yes and carries on. see rules.

the prompt

this is what you paste into your agent after paying (your key goes where the placeholder is).

Set up callbay so you can make phone calls for me (book restaurants, doctor's appointments, call businesses for info).

1. Add the callbay MCP server. Use whichever matches you:
   - Claude Code:  claude mcp add --scope user --transport http callbay https://callbay.skeptrune.com/mcp/<YOUR_CALLBAY_KEY>
   - Codex:        codex mcp add callbay --url https://callbay.skeptrune.com/mcp/<YOUR_CALLBAY_KEY>
   - Claude Desktop, claude.ai, or ChatGPT: I'll add a custom connector with the URL https://callbay.skeptrune.com/mcp/<YOUR_CALLBAY_KEY> (tell me to do this if you can't).
   The URL contains my secret key. Don't paste it anywhere else.
   I don't have a key yet: get one at https://callbay.skeptrune.com (prepaid, from $20).

2. Restart or reload MCP servers if needed, then call callbay_get_balance to check it works.

3. From now on, when I ask you to call somewhere:
   - Find the number (web search if needed) and make sure it's the right location.
   - Gather what the caller may need to say: my name as it should be given, party size, dates, times I can do, DOB or insurance for medical offices, car details, a callback number. Ask me for anything missing before calling, since the caller can only share what you give it.
   - Place the call with callbay_place_call, then keep calling callbay_get_call until it finishes. If the caller asks a question mid-call, answer it quickly with callbay_answer_question; the business is waiting on the line.
   - Tell me the result in one or two lines.
